Numbers, facts, position papers – and above all: people
When it comes to global sustainability, poverty alleviation, migration, climate change, crises and conflicts, as well as solutions, projects and perspectives, it is above all facts and figures that are above all people with their own personal stories. To tell these stories sensitively and at the same time to illustrate how they are linked to the overarching political and social issues of our time, this is what I am concerned with in my journalistic contributions.
My focus is on topics of international cooperation and development policy and the countries of the South. Worldwide research trips took me to numerous countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. In addition, I cover the structural backgrounds of international and European development, environment, climate and trade policy in my reporting.
From my location in Brussels, I also follow the current issues of European development cooperation with concrete aspects such as EU-Africa relations, integration of the 2030 Agenda and the UN Sustainable Development Goals into European policy, EU climate, environment and nature conservation policies, Corporate responsibility and human rights, social and environmental standards in supply chains and fair trade. I also discuss current development policy issues with my guests and experts at a monthly roundtable, organized in cooperation with the Brussels Representation of North Rhine-Westphalia.
I offer newsrooms, sound bites, reports, interviews, reports, features, portraits and commentary on these topics.
