Inspire Change – through inspiring images
Sometimes a picture says more than words – this is once again true for the photo exhibition and competition run by @CIDSE, the international family of 17 Catholic social justice organisatons, based in Brussels. The campaign “Change for the Planet – Care for the People” was launched in February: Photographers around the globe were asked to give their view of a world with sustainable consumption and production patterns. A consumption that is innovative, people-driven and environmental friendly and does not further ruin the planet. Arthur Roessle from Brazil won the prize in the professional category, presenting an inspiring black-and white view of a coffee farmer. Whereas Sebastien Pins, Belgium, won the amateur prize with his almost romantic image of a bee-keeper and his grandson working in the sunny evening light, side by side. An emotional and touching impression. And “sincere emotions” and “simplicity” is exactly what Pins wants to show with his work. The campaign itself wants to show “that we can make the Paris Agreement happen”, as the #CIDSE organisers say. The exhibition is presented at the Chapel for Europe – Chapel de la Résurrection, rue Van Maerlantstraat 22, in Brussels and can still be seen until 6th of July 2017.
